ZOWAA – ARBIL In a series of meetings with the winning slates of the new Kurdistan region parliament, the President of Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Mr. Massoud Barzani, received a delegation from the Assyrian Democratic Movement on the morning of August 27, 2009. The delegation was received in Mr. Barzani’s official residence in Salah Al-Deen and it included Mr. Younan Hozaya, Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Salim Kako and Mrs. Jeehan Ismael, both members of Kurdistan region parliament on behalf of the Rafidain slate.  The meeting discussed the formation of the new cabinet (6th cabin) where our delegation reviewed its strong role in previous cabinet positions, and how its participation came from ADM’s keenness to protect our people’s rights and constant striving to rightfully represent them. The arrest of Mr. Nimrod Sheba, Again!

Assyrian Democratic Movement (ADM) – Dohuk Branch Press Releaase During the last campaign in the Iraq Kurdistan Regional governoment elections it was confirmed that officials of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) were instructing the Kurdish population to vote for the People’s Council – Slate 68 that contained candidates/members from (KDP). The “Al-Rafidain List”reported this misconduct to the Iraqi High Electoral Commission and the United Nations so the quota system that was provided to the Iraqi minorities can preserve its purpose. The reporting of these misconducts was not well received. The privileged, Bahra Newspaper Burglary in its accepted meaning is robbing the rights of one another, whatever these rights might be, by force or without it. This was part of the culture of the past decade. That was the pride of some groups when they took charge and robbed others, by force, and took away what they can get their hands on. Today, the methods of robbing others rights, had evolved; whatever the rights or property might be. Either codify the rights of farmers to extort their land either through agricultural laws, municipal, or tourism, etc. That is to “legally” deprive their rights, not for the public interest, but for the interests of the ruling power. One of our People Arrested!

ZOWAA – DOHUK Asayesh – Amadiyah Security Department on Thursday August 6th arrested Mr. Nimrod Sheba from the village of Komaneh due to his difference of view with the local leadership of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Amadiyah. We have learned from a source familiar with Mr. Sheba that said he had criticized the intervention of the KDP 8th Branch Director to influence the direction of the voters of our people for the benefit of the “People’s Council” List. For this reason, he has faced a lot of pressure and its end result was his arrest.
