Al-Rafidain List continues to hold seminars in Nineveh Plain

Zowaa – Nineveh Plain
Al-Rafidain List “389″ held on Friday, February 26th, 2010 seminars in the villages and townships were our people live in Nineveh Plain. These seminars were moderated by Mr. Yonadam Kanna: head of Al-Rafidain List and member of Iraqi Parliament, Secretary General of the Assyrian Democratic Movement. Mr. Kanna was accompanied by Mr. Basim Ballo: Mayor of Telkepeh and candidate order (2) on our list. Also these seminars were attended by Mr. George Isaac and Johnny Kourkis members of the movement’s leadership.

The first seminar was held in Batnaya, and was attended by large gathering of our people including Mr. Hazem Noah, member of the municipal council of Telkepeh.
The second seminar was held in Telskuf and was attended by a large crowd of our people including Mr. Adel Mikha: member of the municipal council of Telskuf.
The third seminar was held in Shekhan district and was attended by a crowd of our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian nation that are living in Shekhan and surrounding villages of “Perowzawa, Garmaweh, Dahshqutan, Kerenjuk and Eayn Biqra” also this seminar was attended by Mr. Nisan Merza our candidate order (10).

Mr. Kanna reviewed and explained the ongoing political process in the country since 2005 and thus far, and he criticized the principle of quota system that is adopted by the legislative and executive bodies which revealed the role of our Movement and our Al-Rafidain List in obtaining civil rights of our nation and installing these rights in the primary legislation and also talked about the suffering of our people in Mosul, appealing to the federal government the need to coordinate with relevant parties to put an end to the suffering of the citizens Mosul in general and our Christians in particular.
All our candidates stressed on the participants in the seminars and on the importance of active participation in the elections and choose the best and not to bow to the threats and negative practices aimed at the confiscation of the will of the voter.

These visits also included a visit to the home of Mayor of Baqofa, and the delegation was received warmly by Mr. Massoud Matti and many of the notables of the village.
